Lakes, waterfalls, swimming pools, mountain peaks, alpine huts... there are plenty of them in the Southern Black Forest. Of course you have to see them during a visit to our wellness hotel in the Southern Black Forest! We have put together a list of some of the most important and beautiful ones for you here.
The Titisee is about 20 km from the Waldhotel and is a popular destination for strolling, swimming and boating or pedal boating. Lake Titisee owes its formation to the Feldberg glacier. Nestled in the Feldberg scenery, it is an absolute jewel of the Black Forest. On the north shore is the spa town of Titisee-Neustadt with the famous Hochfirst ski jump. The surrounding Black Forest towns of Hinterzarten, Breitnau, Saig and Lenzkirch are interesting to discover.
The big brother of Titisee, is the "Schluchsee", is also about 20 km away from the Waldhotel. Here, water sports in all facets, such as wind surfing, fishing, sailing or diving are the order of the day. It is the largest lake in the Black Forest.
The Todtnauer Wasserfall is only 5 km away and, at 97 metres, the highest natural waterfall in Germany. Hike directly from the hotel via the Todtnauberger Hochtal to the waterfall or via the Wasserfallsteig to the Fahler waterfall.
Visit the Keidel Thermalbad on the outskirts of Freiburg and leave the grey everyday life behind. With around 6000m² of wellness space and a restaurant, the Keidel offers optimal conditions to relax and keep fit.
Bring body and soul into harmony by travelling to Menzenschwand and enjoy the Radon-Revital-Bad. Relax and unwind where it is most beautiful and enjoy the panoramic view in the indoor pool.
Visit the Badeparadies Titisee. There is something for young and old here: Slide in the Galaxy with maximum fun, relax in the Palm Oasis like in the Caribbean or enjoy the unique sauna landscape in the Wellness Oasis.
Freiburg's local mountain is 1284m high and is a popular destination for hikers. Hike to the Schauinslandturm, visit the mining museum, the Schniderlihof or take the Downinsland down into the valley.
At an altitude of 1493m, the Feldberg the highest mountain in Germany outside the Alps. Hike along the idyllic panoramic paths to the Feldsee lake and the Haus der Natur.
The Belchen is the second highest mountain in the Black Forest at 1415m. The 8-seater Skyline Expo mountain railway takes you comfortably up to the Belchenhaus restaurant and there are beautiful panoramic trails around the summit.
Hike from the Alpine Inn Knöpflesbrunnen on beautiful panoramic paths in the direction of Todtnau. Enjoy views of the nearby Felberg or, on a clear day, even as far as the Swiss Alps.
Hike from the Hasenhorn, to the 1183m-high and hosted Gisiboden-Alm. You can get to the Hasenhorn with a comfortable 2-person chairlift or on the Zauberberg children's adventure trail.
